Summer break begins!

With the end of May came the last days of school. This also means I can't use Tuesday or Thursday mornings to go to Target with only one kiddo (funny how that seems like a luxury to me - to not have two kids to haul through the store!), but it also frees up our time for more play dates, trips to the museum, pool, and nearby parks. I have to be sure to tell Madeline that this is summer "break," not "vacation," because anytime she hears "summer vacation" she asks when and where we're going! (vacation = trip in her mind)

It's wonderful having two kids who love to explore outside (and are able to - last year, Olivia wasn't crawling yet and would get bored quickly). And it's so much more entertaining for US, too! Caleb and Madeline enjoy going down to the creek near our house. Olivia joined in on the fun on one occasion, too (no pictures). The water was too cold to want to walk in, and too deep and fast to swim in at this age, but we're already looking forward to the day we can rent a kayak and take the kids out.

Our own yard has a lot to offer, too! Big balls are easy for little feet to kick, and little hands to hold. :)

 I think this picture looks like Olivia is some crotchedy lady chasing Madeline off her lawn. 

 The pink car is used ALMOST every time we go outside. I almost wish the kids could use their feet to move it (like those red and yellow Little Tikes cars) but having it for walks is great too.

 

Bubbles with Grandma!

 Olivia hasn't learned how to hold the bubble wand away from her mouth yet. A lot of bubbles get eaten! (Thank goodness they're non-toxic!)

Hmm, not so sure about the taste....
