One-year-old, and Happy Halloween!

We had a lot going on last week! Olivia turned ONE!!

Has it really been 12 months already since we brought this little sweetheart home from the hospital?

We had a small party for her, complete with cake. She was a little hesitant, but tried it anyway:

...And decided she liked it!

A lot!

 Madeline liked the icing. :)

Here's her 12 month interview:

Favorite Pastimes: Pushing buttons to turn on music, clapping and dancing to the music (see video below), and rolling under the dining room table. She also LOVES to be wherever Madeline is. For her part, Madeline is pretty patient with Olivia, too! Oh, and she's crazy about bath time. Usually it means playing in the tub with her big sister (an added bonus!), but she's happy just splashing and playing by herself, too.

Least Favorite Activities: Separating from Mommy and Daddy.
Favorite Toy: Just about any toy that her big sister is playing with (especially the Little People Princess Castle)
Favorite Foods: Cheerios, Gerber Yogurt Melts, green beans (puree still, doesn't like them as table food), tomatoes, pizza, cheese noodles, sausage... The list goes on.
Newest Skills: Six teeth now, and she's crawling (and rolling) EVERYWHERE
What's Coming Up: We think she might start talking more sometime soon. She just says cat, Mama and Dada for now, but she tries to tell us more! And of course more teeth are always on the way!
Length: 28"(42nd%)
Weight: just over 22 lbs (64th%)
Head Circumference: 90-something %
Budding Personality Traits: Affectionate! Not just cuddles (plenty of those!), but she'll also grab your face and plant a kiss on your lips (an open-mouthed kiss, but still really sweet!). Much like her big sister, she is almost always happy. Caleb and I are so blessed to have such happy kids! She also adores Madeline and wants to be wherever she is, often doing whatever Madeline is doing, too.

Of course, last week was also Halloween! It was Olivia's first time dressing up, and Madeline's first time REALLY getting into the whole trick-or-treating-thing. She did most of our neighborhood in a little over two hours! I was shocked that she lasted that long.

Olivia tagged along in the wagon for a few houses, too!

As is tradition now, Caleb carved the girls' portraits in a pumpkin.

Madeline's picture was fairly easy this year to do. It took five "photo shoots" (with lots of pictures each time) to get a picture of Olivia that worked. TOTALLY worth the effort though!

Happy Halloween, everyone!
