Autumn into Winter

For the last few weeks, one or both kids has been sick with whatever bug is going around at the time - which means little free time for Mommy and Daddy. Cold and flu season is upon us, folks! Thankfully, everyone is on the mend right now, and we hope to all be healthy for our Thanksgiving trip down to IL.

In the meantime, the weather outside has gradually shifted from fall over to winter. One afternoon Caleb created a big leaf pile and we let the kids roll around in it. Simple pleasures, right?

(Do you notice how Olivia's hair is two-toned? The hair on the top of her head - previously her "faux-hawk" - is noticeably darker, and tinted red in certain lights. The rest of her head is lighter than Caleb's hair even, and has a golden hint to it with the right light. We love her uniqueness!)

Just a week or two later, we got our first snow of the season! It was hardly anything, but that didn't stop Madeline from rushing outside to enjoy it any way she could!

It turns out, there wasn't even enough snow to pull the sled.

Sand toys? SNOW toys!

For fun, we took the kids to the Children's Museum again. I think the water-table area is still the favorite!

Despite the apron, she still SOAKED her shirt.

Playing with paper pulp to make her own paper. It didn't really work, but oh well.

Not as much for Olivia to do, but she didn't seem to mind too much!

And just for a bit of randomness:
Madeline came and proudly told us that she put her picture on the fridge. We quickly realized HOW she put it on... (With wood glue, which got EVERYWHERE.)

Love these girls!
