Olivia is TEN MONTHS OLD!!! I was going to do a "9 month" post, like I did for 6 months, but time got away from me and she's grown... So, here's where she's at now!
We love our little sweetheart! Especially how messy her hair gets all the time. It's all over the place, but really cute at the same time. Especially when she's just woken up from nap (above)!
Favorite Pasttimes: Rolling (and now crawling!), cruising in her walker, and laughing with Madeline
Favorite Toys: Any of her big sister's toys, anything that makes noises (her Leap Frog Drum is a favorite), and especially paper. (Seriously, the kid seems to have a magnet for it, aided of course by the fact that her big sister colors constantly and leaves her papers around where Olivia can grab them)
Newest Skills: Crawling! Oh, and she's taking a bottle finally! (Though that happened back in July...)
What's Coming Up: Top teeth (currently working on them, poor girl). And hopefully sleeping through the night again (a mom can dream! Oh wait, I can't right now, because she won't let me sleep... Hmm...)
Length (at 9m checkup): 21st%
Weight (at 9m checkup): 60th% (Just shy of 20 lbs!)
Head Circumference (at 9m checkup): 96th%
Budding Personality Traits: She's quite social, but more like the "I-want-to-be-able-to-watch-everyone" than the "everybody-look-at-me." She smiles at us ALL THE TIME, too, and we LOVE it! She's also very independent - for example, she won't eat any finger foods unless you set them down and let her pick them up.
She still prefers her veggies over fruits, and she really likes it when I give her biscuits or other breaded things (e.g. vanilla wafers, flour tortilla, etc). It's amazing to look at how thin her legs and arms used to be when she was a newborn, and to see her now, with those rolls on her thighs and those chubby cheeks, well it's hard to imagine she went from one to the other!
Her favorite people are still Mommy, Daddy, and Madeline, although she's getting better at separating from us. She still cries every time we drop her off at church, but she calms down sooner now. Of course, if a stranger stands too close to her and looks at her, even lovingly, she bursts into tears!
For months now she's been doing this thing where she will be looking at you, tip her head to the side, and then slowly she'll keep tipping over until her head is on the floor. We used to joke that her head was just getting too heavy (that's really how it looked - like she was too top-heavy!), but then we heard the 96th% for head, and it all made more sense.
She was trying to learn to crawl, and for weeks it seemed like she was so close, it's just that her head would get too heavy and she'd rest it on the floor. Between that, being so efficient at rolling, and being fairly content with whatever toys were within reach, she didn't start crawling until this week. We weren't worried, though it was exciting when she figured it out!
