Back-up Outfits

The weather has been so nice lately! Not only are we able to get outside a lot to play, take walks, and do yard work (something we enjoy, actually), today we went to the French Regional Park. There is a giant playground, complete with cargo-net-climbing-area. Madeline is a little too small for that part, but she loved climbing around, going down the slides, and (of course!) sitting in the swings.

At French Park, they also have a mini beach area. One of the countless lakes in MN resides in the park, so we decided to let Madeline investigate. Now, you should know, it was only about 70 degrees out, plus there's always a wind off the lake, and you figure the water has to be a lot colder than that. We knew enough to take her socks and shoes off and roll up her pants, but didn't realize that the cold water wouldn't phase her....

What you don't see is that, immediately after we stopped filming, we took off her pants so we wouldnt' have to worry about them being splashed. Once they were off, though, Madeline practically dove right into the water! It wasn't very deep, but she did get SOAKING wet, top to bottom. Poor girl, she was pretty upset about being so wet and cold. And THAT is why we always pack a back-up outfit. :) (Which is why she has a different outfit on when we played on the playground later)
