For Olivia's birthday this year, it became pretty clear that she would be thrilled to have an Ariel-themed party. Caleb did some brainstorming on how to make the cake, then set to work (with his little helpers around him, of course).
Using Starburst and chewy Jolly Ranchers, he sculpted coral, starfish, sponges, seaweed, and sea urchin.
The end result was a masterpiece!
(Note: the only things you couldn't eat were the doll and the rock she's sitting on)
We weren't going to be doing any games (they're three, they had a blast just playing with toys!), so we focused instead on under-the-sea decor. Caleb made two balloon-animal octopi, plus some fish for each of the kids to take home:
We also put up some seaweed with fish and mermaids:
Some jellyfish like this one around the house:
And even her name written on sea shells, with swimming mermaids on the wall:
There was more, but how much more do you really want to see, right?
Anyway, we had a few friends over and the kids danced and played their little hearts out.
We love you, sweet Olivia!
