Madeline has been doing a lot of bowling on the Wii, but we had never taken her before because we weren't sure how she would do with the loud noises involved (it can be a sensory bombardment, after all). She did great! I think she liked seeing how the Wii compared with real life.
Olivia LOVED it! True to her budding independent nature, she wanted to do the whole thing herself (including carrying the bowling ball to the ramp). She would jump around and cheer every time the ball reached the pins, regardless of what fell and who rolled. She was having so much fun, it didn't matter whose turn it was! (Okay, she still liked "Wivia's turn" best ;) )

Our church does something every year called "Camp Nujim," where the dads and kids sleep over at the church and watch a movie (NO MOMS ALLOWED!). Everyone brings sleeping bags and even tents, they eat pizza and treats while watching a movie, and have donuts in the morning. (Funny story, this started as a way to "christen" the new gym when they first built it, and they've just continued to do this each year.... for the past 18 years...)
We decided that Madeline was old enough to go this year, and she and Caleb had a great time! For the tug-of-war (kids against dads), it actually got pretty tough and certainly tiring! I believe there were about 18 dads, and over/around 50 kids? Lots of fun. Unfortunately the movie was too scary (Big Hero 10), but that allowed Caleb and Madeline to go "camp" in a different room, where some other friends showed up and where they could be removed from the ruckus after the movie. All in all, a great time! We're looking forward to next year. (And I'm looking forward to a few years from now, when both kids can go - a night to myself!)
